What happened to that weird awkward stage we all went through? You know the one where you wore the wrong color foundation, shimmery silvery shadows in one shade all over your eye lids, with equally shimmery lipstick or gloss on the lips, butterfly clips twisted back, with bright shiny colored braces on your teeth…
Is it just me or does it seem like girls are just skipping this stage now? I swear there are 14 years olds with better beauty routines than me! Do these young girls even realize how lucky they are to have endless tips, videos, tutorials, and blogs at their fingertips? I know when my mom finally allowed me to start wearing makeup, I got a cheap foundation from the drug store, a mascara, and some LipSmacker clear gloss, that may or may not have had a ton of glitter in it! These girls step out of the 3rd grade knowing how to contour like a Kardashian! It makes me want to scream, “No m’am! You must go through the awkward stage like we all did! It’s a rite of passage!”

I don’t know about you, but this whole blog has me feeling nostalgic! What were some of your favorite beauty products as a preteen? Here is a list of products that make me all warm and fuzzy with memories!!

Smells like “Teen Spirit”!!! Which scent was your favorite? Mine was the Berry Blossom!Who needs highlights when there is “SunIn” in a fresh lemon scent! Anyone else spend hours laying out with this industrial cleaner smelling product in your hair! This girl did!Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara! I am pretty sure that every woman in America has at one point purchased this hot pink and lime green tube of mascara right?!Covergirl’s single eye shadows. I couldn’t tell you the name of it, but if it was silver or pink with lots of shimmer, I guarantee you I owned it!Lipsmacker’s Gloss! The fruitier and more shimmery the better! Frosted eyes, frosted lips and I was ready for 7th grade American History! Now the very thought of applying a fruit flavored lipstick makes my stomach turn! Haha
There is my list of memorable products! What are some of yours? Let’s reminisce about the good old days, pre-tutorials and blogs when we all just looked absolutely ridiculous!
